South Korea and Ghana go in search of their first victory at the 2022 World Cup in order to boost their chances of making it through to the last 16.

Korea earned a credible 0-0 draw with Uruguay in their Group H opener on Thursday to gain their first point of the tournament and can now take a huge step towards a knockout round place by picking up all three points.

But Ghana are in desperate need of a win in order to stay in with a fighting chance up until the final game, knowing that another defeat would eliminate them from the World Cup after losing 3-2 to Portugal in their first game.

When is South Korea vs Ghana?

South Korea vs Ghana will kick-off at 1pm (GMT) on Monday, November 28 at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.

This will be the ninth meeting between the two sides, with the latest coming back in June 2014 as Ghana ran out 4-0 winners in an international friendly at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, United States.

A hat-trick from Jordan Ayew and a strike from Asamoah Gyan gave Ghana a comfortable victory in what was their final warm-up fixture ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where they crashed out in the group stage following one draw and two defeats.

Team news

A valuable point against Uruguay in their opening fixture has set South Korea up perfectly ahead of their meeting with Ghana and manager Paulo Bento could look to use the same side once more as his side go in search of all three points.

Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan (hamstring) remains a doubt but should he regain full fitness in time, then he could be handed an opportunity to start in attack. Tottenham ’s Son Heung-min remains Korea's talisman, while Olympiacos striker Hwang Ui-jo will hope to lead the line once more.

As for Ghana, they showed why they are not to be underestimated after pushing Portugal all the way in their 3-2 defeat four days ago, as Otto Addo considers using the same lineup against South Korea in order to stand the best chance of gaining something from the game.

Ajax’s Mohamed Kudus was Ghana’s most promising player against Portugal and Addo may consider moving him further forward up the pitch in order to provide more attacking threat. Jordan Ayew will look to push Inaki Williams for a starting place up front alongside his brother, Andre, while goalscorer Osman Bukari has also staked his claim for a starting spot.
