A Leicestershire weather expert has said there's a slim chance that we could see some "proper" cold weather and snow. Phil Morrish, based in Rothley, has said that the ten day weather charts suggest the possibility of some incredibly cold weather on the horizon, similar to a second Beast from the East.
The first Beast from the East, back in 2018, caused major disruption with its heavy snow and incredibly chilly temperatures, so while the idea of snow might sound exciting, it could also cause some problems across the country. However, Phil has told people "not to get excited just yet", as ten day charts can be incredibly unpredictable and depend on a number of factors to get the exact forecast.
He says, at the moment, we're looking at a ten per cent chance of it happening. He shared the update onto his Twitter account, @rothleyweather, writing: "The 10 day charts bring the possibility of some proper cold weather and snow with the Beast from the East. But I must stress this is very early days and these charts usually change but I will keep you informed.
"Don’t get excited yet! A 10% chance of this happening at the moment!"
If the snow and cold weather goes ahead as forecast, it will be the first major drop in the mercury since December, where we were treated to some incredibly cold temperatures and snow for the best part of a week.
