The cops searching for missing Nicola Bulley have shutdown a carpark this afternoon. Police officers at Lancashire Police closed down a car park to members of the public and a cordon was erected following the disappearance of mum-of-two Nicola who was reported missing a week ago.

Officers have taped off Skippool Creek car park in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, with investigators wearing white forensic suits seen carrying away bags of evidence. Lancashire Police have not yet disclosed what is happening at the site, which is bordered by a narrow tributary of the River Wyre.

The cordon has since been lifted and the car park was reopened to the public, The Blackpool Gazette reports. Find out all the latest information about the Nicola Bulley case here on our sister title Lancs Live.

Nicola, from Inskip, vanished while walking her dog after dropping off her daughters, aged six and nine, at school last Friday morning (January 27). Her mobile phone and the lead and harness for her dog, springer spaniel Willow, were found on a bench close to the River Wyre in St Michael’s on Wyre in the Lancashire countryside.

Police divers using specialist equipment have been seen searching the River Wyre below where Nicola's items were found on the bench. Police say Nicola was last seen at 9.10am last Friday while walking her dog, and she had logged on to a work Teams call, which ended at 9.30am with her still logged on.

Earlier today, her partner Paul Ansell said he “cannot get his head around” how the 45-year-old had vanished, and said his focus was on staying strong for their two daughters. Nicola was last seen walking her dog near the River Wyre in St Michael’s on Wyre last Friday morning (January 27).

Speaking near the scene where she was last seen, Mr Ansell told broadcasters: "Every single scenario comes to a brick wall. Every single one of them. All we are doing is sitting there going round and round and round through each scenario. I don't really have anything to say other than what the family said yesterday. It's a week on and yet it seems like we are no further on. It just seems impossible - like a dream."
