UFC Heavyweight Tom Aspinall has responded to Conor McGregor's death threat and has insisted that he meant the Irish star no disrespect.

Aspinall angered McGregor when he suggested that he didn't have a massive interest in the Dubliner's comeback fight with Michael Chandler.

This angered McGregor, who launched into a stunning Twitter tirade against Aspinall tweeting, ""Bum p***k. Say sayonara to that GK [Gym King] deal kid. Starve you and kill you, I will you f***ing disrespectful p***k. Don't ever speak my name in disrespect again. Mush potato head."

Appearing on the MMA Hour this week, Aspinall insisted that he didn't mean to upset McGregor and that he has no idea why the former double World Champion got so angry.

"I honestly don’t know (why he was so angry)."

“I have so much respect for Conor, I would never disrespect him or anybody else. I’m not that kind of guy."

The 29-year-old doubled down on his comments and says that he has no interest in entering into a war of words with McGregor.

“I’m an adult, I ain’t trying to beef with nobody," said Aspinall.

"If I’m trying to beef with anyone, I want to be someone in my division, so we can at least have a fight and make some money off it.

"No idea. Literally, all I said was, ‘I’m not as interested in Conor’s fight as I was in other fights coming up.’

"That was it. No disrespect meant to anybody.”
