John McGinn helped superb Scotland secure a memorable 2-0 victory over Spain on Tuesday night.

The Aston Villa midfielder played a key role in the triumph, enjoying 83 minutes at Hampden Park, as the Tartan Army stunned Spain to record a win that will live long in the memory.

Scott McTominay’s brace helped Scotland secure their second successive victory as they opened their Euro 2024 qualification campaign with a 100% record.

Following Saturday’s 3-0 success over Cyprus, Scotland currently top Group A with six points from two matches.

Jacob Ramsey captained England Under-21s but the night ended in defeat as the Young Lions fell to a 2-1 reverse against Croatia.

Villa midfielder Ramsey wore the armband with pride at Craven Cottage, completing 62 minutes, but it was the visitors who emerged victorious in the friendly.

Bertrand Traoré’s Burkina Faso celebrated qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Having won all three of their opening matches in Group B, they played out a 1-1 draw against Togo – just four days after securing a 1-0 victory – with Traoré completing 90 minutes.

Four points from the double-header is enough for Burkina Faso to seal their spot at next year’s AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.

Congratulations, Bertrand!
