Mark Lawrenson believes "it's just not happening" for Brendan Rodgers and is at risk of losing his job at Leicester City if results do not pick up.

The Foxes are winless in their last five Premier League matches, a run that leaves them just one point above the dropzone. They now face fellow relegation battlers Crystal Palace in a real six-pointer.

Club chairman Aiyawatt 'Top' Srivaddhanaprabha has retained faith in the manager throughout this season, but failure to beat the Eagles, who replaced Patrick Vieira with Roy Hodgson last month, could put Rodgers on the brink.

Lawrenson does not foresee City getting a win over Palace, however. He predicts a 1-1 draw between the two sides and says the "pressure" is well and truly on the Irishman.

"Roy Hodgson’s coaching is generally filling in the blanks, as in, when the opposition look up when they’re on the ball they’ve got no-one to pass to. That’s the way he’s always coached," the former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland defender told PaddyPower.

"I think this might a low-scoring draw. That would not be a good result for Leicester, obviously.

"The pressure is on the manager now, isn't it? I think people are saying 'we've been good to you, left you alone all season, we know you've got problems', but it's just not happening for him."
