A prominent Leicester building which houses a popular bar has gone on the market. The property, at 1 Millstone Lane, is being advertised for sale on a freehold basis for a guide price of £1,650,000.
The move follows the news in mid-March that Marston's Brewery was putting 61 of its sites up for sale following a review of its estate. Other local sites include the Jubilee Inn at Newbold Verdon and the Marquess of Exeter at Lyddington.
Business property adviser and pub specialist, Christie and Co, is marketing the Millstone Lane site, which is described as an "investment sale". The building houses Firebug, which has told LeicestershireLive it is not closing.

Christie and Co says the building features a bar area to the ground floor, which has a capacity of around 250 people, and a first floor room with additional bar and games room, which can accommodate around 100 people. There is also a beer garden to the rear and a commercial kitchen and cellars.

On the first floor, there is a manager's flat including three bedrooms. According to details from Christie and Co, the property is let on a 21 year lease subject to a partial tie, expiring on April 5, 2036, and subject to a five year rent review pattern. The current rent is £45,000 pa. Trading hours are 12pm until 4am.
