A day after the Noida Police found the decomposed body of a 73-year-old woman inside a two-storey bungalow in Greater Noida’s Beta-1, senior officers said that they suspect no foul play in the case, adding she seemed to have died a natural death.

The septuagenarian is said to have not been in touch with her family for four months.

A senior police officer said: “She had fought with her son and daughter-in-law and hence stopped keeping in touch with them…her body has been decomposing for 20 days…she also got divorced from her husband several years ago and had been staying alone in her Greater Noida house.”

The officers said no external injuries were seen on the woman’s body. “The postmortem report has been concluded as uncertain and her viscera sample has been preserved for further analysis,” said an officer. “Scanning of CCTV footage or statement of the house help has also not revealed anything suspicious…we are suspecting a natural death,” police said. No complaint had been submitted in the matter.
