The Wimbledon 2023 for ATP men’s single started its first round on June 27th. Thousand of tennis fans gathered to watch the tournament at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, South London. Interestingly, alpine skiing queen Lindsey Vonn also graced her presence at the event and posted a multitude of glimpses of the tournament on her social media handle.

Vonn posted a picture with Roger Federer, the all-time best and fans’ beloved tennis player, a few days ago. And now the alpine skier was seen on a Wimbledon Interview video sponsored by Rolex, where she opens up about her most cherished tennis memory. She speaks about the legendary 2009 Wimbledon Championships as her vivid memory. 

Lindsey Vonn: The insane Tiebreak of the 2009 Wimbledon Champions

Lindsey Vonn has been the official Rolex Ambassador for eight long years now. Hence, in the recent talk with Wimbledon sponsored by Rolex, Vonn speaks about the traditions and customs she loves about tennis and her memories from the legendary tiebreak between Roger Federer and Andy Roddick. The match set several records for the long hours of play. There were many critical points when the thrilling match compelled spectators to get on the edge of their seats. The most memorable moment for most of the fans was when Roddick botched a backhand volley and served 6-5. 

Lindsey Vonn reminisced her memories from that unforgettable match and said, “I think my most vivid memory of Wimbledon was watching Roger and Andy Roddick in this crazy long final tiebreak. It just kept going back and forth, and we were on the edge of our seats the whole time.”

However, Roger Federer won the match after 4 hours and 17 minutes of play and secured his fifteenth major title. At that time, Federer broke the all-time Grand Slam record of Pete Sampras. Roger Federer has made numerous records in his career, one of which was recently overtaken by the Serbian tennis player.

Novak Djokovic broke Federer’s record in Roland Garros

The Serbian player and world-ranked 3, Novak Djokovic broke Roger Federer’s and Rafael Nadal’s records for most Roland Garros quarter-finals. Djokovic is aiming for his 23rd Grand Slam Title at the Roland Garros. In the French open league 2023, Novak started with amusing victories and the first 4 rounds. Now the semi-final is to be battled between Djokovic and young Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz.

Interestingly, Vonn was also present in the stands and witnessed the tournament unfolding in all its glory. The Olympic alpine champion has always been a fan of tennis. And this was the brightest memory of Vonn of Wimbledon. She always takes her inspiration from tennis great Roger Federer for his in-and-out court performances.
