One of the many prosperous companies owned by Ratan Tata’s Tata Group is Tata CLiQ (Rs 750 crore), an online retailer part of Tata Digital. Many upscale brands have been brought to the Indian market through Tata CLiQ. 

Gopal Asthana is the CEO of Tata CliQ, the premium clothing line of Tata Group.

Gopal Asthana graduated from Government Engineering College in Jabalpur with a bachelor's degree in engineering before enrolling in Indian Business School to pursue a degree in business administration and management.

He served as chief business officer at Nykaa, a rival organization in the same industry as the Tata fashion brand, before becoming the helm of Tata CLiQ. 

Asthana also has experience with retail fashion companies because he worked with Shoppers Stop for almost 20 years, first as a category head in 1998 and then as executive vice president before leaving in 2019.

The CEO is skilled in managing budgets, forecasting, identifying fashion trends, developing merchandising strategies, and strategic buying.

He joined Tata CliQ, one of the largest online retailers of luxury products that also sells products from billion-dollar luxury brands like Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, Ray-Ban, Yves Saint Laurent, Dyson, and Tissot.

The business also recently launched 13 international brands on the platform including Baldinini, BCBG, Aspinal of London, Liu Jo, Loci, Pollini, Mulberry, and Twinset among others.
