A Lanarkshire food company is celebrating stunning success at two award ceremonies.
Staff at Harthill-based business, Lazy Day Foods, were thrilled to be named as the winner at both the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards and the Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards.
In less than three years, turnover has doubled at the award-winning business, and it continues to grow, creating new employment opportunities within the local community.
Emer Bustard, Lazy Day Foods Co-founder said: “We are incredibly proud to be awarded again at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards, this time in ‘Bakery Product of the Year’ category.
“As last year’s winners of the ‘Free From Award’, we were not allowed to enter the same category this year. Despite the competitive line up of mainstream bakeries with great products, we were thrilled to win again, this time with our delicious and free from mini caterpillar cakes.
“Inclusivity, taste and quality have always been important to us, so we are delighted Mini Vic more than held his own in the test against mainstream bakery. A win is always exciting, but winning this category truly is the icing on the cake!”
In the same week, Lazy Day Foods also scooped the ‘Food & Drink Business of the Year’ award at the Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards, which celebrates the success and achievements of Lanarkshire businesses.

We also want to do good within our local community and have always put our people at the heart of our business to be recognised in this local business award is wonderful.
“We have tried to create an environment where everyone feels valued, empowered and proud to work at Lazy Day. For us, this is what ‘success’ looks like. It is a really exciting time for us at Lazy Day.
“We have always been proud of what we do but we are incredibly proud that other people are recognising our work, and these award wins are really special for the whole Lazy Day family.
"Continued success and growth also enable us to create new employment opportunities within our local community.”
Driven by their recent surge in economic growth, Lazy Day Foods is continuing to take on new staff and is currently seeking a number of highly motivated individuals to join their dynamic team as both Bakery Assistants and Hygiene Operatives.
