The president of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, will pay a state visit to Britain in November.

The King and Queen will host the president and his wife, Kim Keon Hee, at Buckingham Palace. The King and Yoon previously met at a reception at the palace on the eve of the Queen’s funeral.

Earlier this month the King sent a message of congratulations and good wishes to Kim Jong-un, North Korea’s president, on the country’s national day.

Yoon, 62, a former prosecutor general, has devoted efforts to improving relations with Japan since he became president in May 2022. He has also hinted that Korea might provide military assistance to Ukraine on top of financial aid.
