The Welcome to Wrexham documentary usually hits all the right notes with Dragons' fans but a bizarre map of Welsh and English football clubs has saw the show hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The latest episode, entitled "Giant Killers" followed the team's 2022/23 FA Cup campaign in which they beat Championship side Coventry City before taking now-Premier League side Sheffield United to a replay.

But it was the image of a map showing some of the clubs involved in the FA Cup that got tongues wagging online. The graphic had the club logos placed on where the clubs are based. Wrexham's was roughly in the right place but Everton was re-located to Caernarfon; Rochdale was shifted to just east of Aberystwyth and Cardiff and Swansea were moved across to the wrong side of the Bristol Channel.

There was a big reaction to the blunder online with TNT Sports' football account saying: "This map from the Welcome to Wrexham documentary could do with a bit of work!"

William Avery said: "Since when have Cardiff and Swansea been in Devon., The best one is London-based club Queens Park Rangers on the Welsh border."

LFC Excel Genius said: "Can't believe Everton's new stadium is on the banks of the Menai. Brentford by the lakes as well!"

Later in the same episode Wrexham's co-chairmen Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney also joked about former Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp, after the Blades striker had hit out at Wrexham AFC following his team's FA Cup victory over the Reds at Bramall Lane earlier this year. Sharp shouted at some Dragons players "stick that in your documentary" after the match in which the Yorkshire side emerged victorious.

Reynolds said: "It was so wonderful to see that we got under that guy's skin", before McElhenney joked: "we're living rent free in that motherf****'s brain."
