"But then she made you feel just involved immediately."

What happened to Holly?

On March 12, 2020, 33-year-old Williams was found dead in a 2005 white Acura sedan that was located in Nashville, Tennessee.

The lifeless body of her 36-year-old estranged boyfriend Bill Lanway was also recovered from the crime scene.

An autopsy concluded both Williams and Lanway were shot to death.

As police launched an investigation into their homicides, it was revealed Williams engaged in a months-long affair with Erik Charles Maund.

Maund is a married father and auto dealer from Austin, Texas.

It's believed Maund and Williams began an affair when the former started seeking escort services while visiting his son in college in Nashville.

On December 10, 2021, Maund was arrested for conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

He was also charged with kidnapping resulting in death, carrying, brandishing, and discharging a firearm during and with a crime of violence.

Along with Maund, his co-conspirators Gilad Peled, Byron Brockway, and Adam Carey were taken into custody for the same abovementioned charges.

Authorities discovered Lanway attempted to extort Maund for $25,000 and threatened to expose his affair with Williams to his family.

What was Erik Maund's trial verdict?

On November 30, 2023, Maund was found guilty of murder-for-hire with death resulting.

His co-conspirators Brockway and Carey were also found guilty of the previously mentioned charges.

Before the trial, Peled had already pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with the police's investigation.

"We are committed to aggressively prosecuting violent crime in Middle Tennessee and I am very pleased that the men responsible for these murders have finally been held accountable for their deplorable actions," US Attorney Henry C. Leventis stated.

"I want to commend the detectives of the Metro Nashville Police Department and agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation whose thorough investigation made this outcome possible."

As per ABC News, Maund's legal team intends to seek out an appeal on the verdict.

The statement read: "Erik Maund is not guilty of the charges in the indictment. Mr. Maund and counsel intend to pursue appeals on the remaining charge for which the jury returned a guilty verdict."
