Government buildings, stores, and banks are constantly changing hours during the winter season to accommodate the holidays. Who has the time to check all the places that will be open and closed for Christmas? The Inquirer does.

Here’s a rundown of all the businesses and services operating on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

❌ City of Philadelphia government offices will be closed Sunday, Dec. 24, and Monday, Dec. 25.

✅ / ❌ Holidays may impact hours of operation. Visit phila.gov/food to view specific site schedules and call ahead before visiting.

❌ The Free Library will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 23, to Monday, Dec. 25.

❌ No trash and recycling collections on Christmas Day, Dec. 25. Collections will be picked up one day behind regular schedule all week. To find your trash and recycling collection day, go to phila.gov.

Acme Markets

✅ Open from 7 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Christmas Day.

Aldi

✅ Open for modified business hours on Christmas Eve.

❌ Aldi will be closed Christmas Day.

✅ Open at normally scheduled start time and close by 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.

Mail and packages

U.S. Postal Service

❌ On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and Christmas Day, Dec. 25, local post offices will be closed and there will be no regular mail delivery.

UPS, FedEx, and DHL

❌ UPS, FedEx, and DHL will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There will be no delivery or pickup services those days, except for critical services.

Most, if not all, banks will be closed Christmas Day. Some banks may be operating on modified hours on Christmas Eve.

✅ The Shops at Liberty Place, the Fashion District, Philadelphia Mills, King of Prussia Mall, and Cherry Hill Mall will operate on modified business hours on Christmas Eve.
