Nintendo Switch 2 will get five big SEGA games, claims a known leaker
Nintendo is yet to officially announce the Switch 2 gaming handheld. Some rumors suggest that the console will be released next month, but there’s no confirmation from the Japanese video game and console company. But the good news is that we are now getting details about upcoming SEGA projects for handheld, which are all coming from a known leaker.
According to @MbKKssTBhz5 on X, who is also known as Midori, all the five games SEGA announced at The Game Awards will be landing on the Nintendo Switch 2. For those who missed it, SEGA announced remakes or remasters of Shinobi, Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, Crazy Taxi, and Streets of Rage at the show.
These are some popular classic titles that fans were asking for a remaster of. While SEGA didn’t go into much detail for each of these remakes, the company did showcase a bit of gameplay from the titles to give fans a glimpse of what the remakes will look like on modern hardware, such as the Switch 2. Check them out from the announcement video attached at the end.
Midori also shared some info about the Golden Axe series, claiming the reboot was delayed. But the leaker later deleted the tweet, which may hint that Midori wasn’t supposed to share this information. The leaker talked a bit about the Virtua Fighter franchise too. Its reboot is reportedly in development.
Returning to the remake of five big SEGA games, their launch is said to be three to four years away. If that’s the case, it would make sense for them to debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 even if the handheld gaming console isn’t released by 2024 or 2025.
The titles at TGA event are coming to next Nintendo hardware.
