Liverpool 4-1 Luton LIVE REACTION: Van Dijk, Gakpo, Diaz and Elliott score in second-half blitz as Klopp’s men respond to early setback at Anfield to extend lead at top of table

Liverpool moved further clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table with a 4-1 win over Luton at Anfield.

The Hatters stunned Anfield to open the scoring through Chiedozie Ogbene and held that lead until half time.

However, in the second half, Jurgen Klopp's men came out and destroyed the visitors as Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott all scored to complete a huge comeback victory.

    Right, that's it from us this evening as Liverpool came from 1-0 down to beat Luton 4-1 at Anfield and move four points clear at the top of the table.

    The Reds were poor in the first 45 minutes, and the Hatters frustrated the home crowd.

    However, the second half was very different as Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott completed the turnaround.

The Hatters have shipped 29 goals in 12 away games in the division this season, the joint-most of any side on the road, along with Bournemouth and Sheffield United.
    • In Mo Salah (19), Diogo Jota (14), Darwin Núñez (13), Cody Gakpo (11), and Luis Díaz (10), Liverpool are the first club in Europe's big-five leagues to have five players reach 10+ goals in all competitions this season. In fact, the Reds also became the first side from Europe’s big-five leagues to score 100 goals in all competitions in 2023-24.

    He finds Diaz, who finishes past Kaminski.

    He's had plenty of chances, so it's about time he found the back of the net.
