Jadon Sancho had a nightmare evening in the Champions League as Borussia Dortmund drew with PSV on Tuesday night.

The Manchester United loanee was named in the starting line-up to face the Dutch side in their Champions League last 16 tie with the first leg at the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven.

But it was a night to forget for the England international, who failed to impress with all eyes on him.

Sancho was roped off on 68 minutes with the scores locked at 1-1 and the stats do not make for pretty reading.

He produced no goals or assists, but he also failed to create a single chance or complete a single dribble, something he was renowned for in his first spell at Dortmund.

The 23-year-old also lost five out of his seven duels as he was largely muscled out of the game.

Sancho rejoined Dortmund in the January transfer window on loan from United after falling out with Erik ten Hag.

The winger billed his return as him 'coming home' but he has failed to make much of an impression since making the move back to Germany.

He registered an assist on his debut against Darmstadt, who were bottom of the Bundesliga at the time.

Since then, Sancho has played six games - five in the Bundesliga and one in the Champions League, where he has not scored or assisted once.

In defence of the England international, he has basically had to restart his season after being ostracised by Ten Hag at United.

The Red Devils suspended Sancho after lashing out at the Dutchman on social media for comments he made following his omission from the squad for their defeat at Arsenal.

That was all the way in September 2023, with the forward not kicking a ball since.

With Dortmund in the midst of an important campaign, Sancho has had no time to get back to his best and has been thrown into the middle of it.

Nevertheless, with his loan expiring in the summer and his future at Old Trafford very much up in the air, he will hope to hit form sooner rather than later.
