Passengers travelling on buses, trams and underground trains in Berlin can expect restrictions even before the nationwide warning strike on Thursday and Friday.

The trade unions NahVG, gkl and dbb Beamtenbund have called for a warning strike on Monday from the start of the shift at 3.00 am until 2.00 pm. They also called for a demonstration in front of the House of Representatives on Friday.

Effects of the strike are still difficult to predict

According to BVG, however, restrictions are to be expected. The transport company says it is trying to compensate for cancellations at short notice. Another warning strike on underground trains, buses and trams is planned for the second half of the week. The trade union Verdi has called on BVG employees and those of its subsidiary Berlin Transport to take part in an all-day warning strike on 29 February and 1 March until 2 pm. The background to this is also the ongoing wage negotiations.
