Fight, flight or freeze. All too often, Sarah Healy just froze. In the key part of the race, on the biggest stage, in those packed stadiums, something would glitch in the matrix of her mind.

The negative voices would storm the control tower, Healy feeling powerless to stop them. She became a passenger in her own performance – zoning out, watching on, as things went awry. The Tokyo Olympics. The World Indoors in Belgrade. The World Champs in Oregon. The Europeans in Munich. Four straight major track championships in 13 months where she walked off the track disconsolate, distraught, and downright confused.
