Statement from Nicola Richards on the news that Florida-based entrepreneur Shilen Patel and his father Dr Kiran C. Patel will take a 87.8% shareholding in West Bromwich Albion.
Nicola said: "This is the news that every Albion fan has been waiting for. New investment in our club is sorely needed so I'm delighted to see progress in the takeover talks.
"The impact that fans have had in helping to reach this point shouldn't be understated.
"Groups like Action for Albion, Shareholders for Albion and their supporters have worked so hard to put a positive spotlight on our club in difficult times. They've helped make the club a more attractive prospect to investors so there is now light at the end of the tunnel.
"Well done, and thank you, to everyone who has played a part. I'm sure many fans will be feeling so much more positive about our club's future, and they can be proud of what they've helped achieve.
"Finally, I must thank West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street, for his dedication to our local football clubs and helping us to take our case to the EFL.
"I'll be eagerly awaiting developments and look forward to discussions with the new ownership."
