Padraig Harrington capped off a successful weekend for Irish golfers with his win at the HOAG Open.

The Dubliner recovered from two Double-Bogeys to Birdie the last two holes and take home his seventh win on the PGA Champions Tour.

As a result of his performance, the three time major winner earned a huge cheque for $300,000, taking his yearly earnings to $367,590 and his total career earnings to $26,172,322.

"Yeah, I never make it easy, don't do it simple," Harrington said after the nervy win, "I think one of my best traits in golf is when my back's to the wall, I'm pretty good at taking things on."

Elsewhere Seamus Power had to make do with a tie for 26th place at the Valspar Championship following a disappointing final round of 76. Beginning his day in second place, Power failed to mount a challenge, ultimately finishing nine shots behind winner Peter Malnati.

Shane Lowry went on a roll early in his round to get withing one shot of the lead before dropping five shots in the final eight holes as the sweltering conditions in Singapore took its toll. Still, a cheque for $21,311 will go down vert nicely indeed as the 2019 Open Champion continued his good form ahead of the first major of the year at Augusta National on April 11th.

Over on the LPGA Tour, Leona Maguire finished in a tie for 13th at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship to win a shade under $30,000.

In total, the four Irish stars won $411,198 for their week's troubles, with Harrington's $300,000 contributing massively to the pot.
