Wimbledon ticket tout turned supergrass ‘silenced by threats’

A Wimbledon ticket tout who pledged to reveal details of his business associates to avoid jail has said he must remain silent after being threatened by a network of 350 illicit sellers.

Oliver Hardiman told the High Court last month that he would hand over details to the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club so it could identify other touts.

Hardiman, 43, said his wife had persuaded him to co-operate with Wimbledon authorities to avoid a possible prison sentence, leading to him being described as the first “tout supergrass” prepared to expose secrets of the trade.
