A new pub will open in Hull City Centre today just in time for the newest round of Trinity Festival Rebooted this Easter Weekend.

Joining the 11 venues participating with live music will be The Drum & Cymbals, which will be opening its doors ready for the festival. The festival will deliver almost 60 live free music shows from local musicians on the afternoon of Saturday, March 30.

The Drum & Cymbals pays homage to some local pub history - named after the original pub standing at the corner of Osbourne Street and Great Union Street from 1848 to 1956. It's now at the Corner of Whitefriargate and owned by brothers Robert and Anthony Jackson, who also own four other Old Town pubs.

The brothers have been in the industry for the last 20 years since they opened Café Bar in Trinity House Lane in 2004, before renaming it after another old city centre pub name - The Star of the West. Since then, they have taken over Crown & Cushion and they have also had the Burlington in nearby Manor Street for 14 years.

Robert said, "From the outside, the Drum & Cymbals looks very modern with its big windows but inside there’s a traditional feel with a nice wooden bar – and with our policy of playing only 60s, 70s and 80s music. We’re delighted to be up and running and to start by taking part in one of the city centre’s big events – the pub has the perfect name for a music festival!”
