Harry Kane has been hailed by Bayern Munich team-mate Raphael Guerreiro for being more than just a world-class goalscorer, who admits: "When he struggles, we all struggle."

Kane continues to take the Bundesliga by storm after bagging a record-breaking 31 goals in 26 games in his debut season. The England captain's heroics have kept Bayern in with a chance of winning the German title for a 12th successive season, despite surprise leaders Bayer Leverkusen sitting 10 points clear with only eight games to go.

The all-important run-in starts with a home game against Borussia Dortmund this Saturday, when Kane - who's expected to be fit after leaving the England camp early - will be hoping to fire Bayern to victory. But it's not just in the box where the 30-year-old plays a crucial role, with various other aspects of his all-round game taking Guerreiro by surprise.

Speaking ahead of Der Klassiker, the Portuguese explained: "To be honest, I didn't really know his style of play before he arrived at the club. I thought perhaps he might just stay up top and wait for the chances to score. But he offers a lot more than that. He can link the play up, he protects the ball well."

It even took time out of the Bayern team for Guerreiro to appreciate Kane's overall quality.

"When I was injured, I watched all the games and I really saw what a great striker he is," the former Dortmund star, who left on a free transfer to join Bayern last summer, said. "He is the type of striker that I really like. He really helps the team out in difficult moments by protecting the ball and by winning fouls.

"He is not just an important goalscorer for us, he also makes a lot of key passes. He creates a lot of opportunities for his teammates. For example, that pass for Jamal [Musiala] in our last game [a 5-2 win away to Darmstadt] was exceptional.

"So he is definitely one of the best strikers, yes."

Raphael Guerreiro is in awe of Harry Kane

Perhaps the most telling comment from Guerreiro admitting: "When he struggles, we all struggle."

The left-back, who can also play in midfield, then added: "He needs to maintain this level until the end of the season so we can achieve our aims as a team."

Bayern would need at least four slip-ups from Leverkusen to have a shot at lifting the Bundesliga title in May, although the Champions League could be a way of salvaging their season. The final takes place at Wembley on Saturday, June 1, so where better for Kane to lead Guerreiro and company to glory?
