A McDonald's could be coming to Hull's Sutton Fields business park with a survey launched asking for people's views.

The company is eyeing up a site on Oslo Road which is currently occupied by the Buzz Bingo hall. McDonald's' Senior Acquisition Surveyor Annie Newman said the multi-million pound development could create up to 120 jobs on an ideally-located site.

Buzz Bingo has not responded to LDRS's requests for comment about its future at the Sutton Fields site in light of the announcement. It comes as McDonald's has launched an online survey asking people for their views on the proposals.

A newsletter has also been sent to nearby residents about the survey, which closes on Wednesday, April 10. The company stated the restaurant would provide a number of local job opportunities.

It added it would also provide around £60,000 in business rates to Hull City Council which could be spent on local services. The restaurant would join the 1,450 McDonald's already in the UK and Ireland which employed around 180,000 people.

Ms Newman said she was excited to finally share the proposals for Sutton Fields. She said: "This development would deliver over 120 new, local jobs, and provide a multi million-pound investment into the local economy, at a time of economic uncertainty.

"The site, located off Oslo Road, is ideally placed to serve residents and visitors in Sutton Fields. We’re confident that residents and local businesses will recognise the value of greater choice, and the benefits of having a reliable and convenient restaurant from a recognised brand serving food at reasonable prices.

"We’re looking forward to working closely with the community and receiving feedback on our plans. We’d like to encourage everyone interested to go to our website and make their views known."
