MAKE-up brand Laura Mercier has had a bumper year.
In January, it sent TikTok into a frenzy with its new Real Flawless Foundation - famed for blurring imperfections for a your-skin-but-better finish.
Laura Mercier Real Flawless Concealer, £28.50
So when the brand announced it was launching a Real Flawless Concealer - which has a similar formula to the viral foundation - the beauty industry cheered.
Ever since, online searches for ‘Laura Mercier concealer’ have increased six-fold and it's even become the brand's bestselling concealer to date, according to John Lewis.
Having seen the millions of rave reviews and internet hits, Team Fabulous simply had to give it a go - so here are our honest thoughts...
BEFORE
When it comes to complexion products, I’m all about lightweight, hydrating formulas with a natural finish.
I love products that offer skin a bit of a lift, without looking overly cakey, greasy or unnatural.
I’m already a Laura Mercier fan, having been converted after trying the brand’s Perfecting Skin Foundation – which promised infallible skin in just one pump - and this concealer follows a similar formula, so I had high hopes.
Firstly, it blends like a dream.
Recently, I’ve been applying my concealer to the back of my hand, then buffing it into my eye contour area with a concealer brush – a tip I picked up from a make-up artist – which worked a treat.

The concealer instantly sunk into my skin - blurring my dark circles - and has a lovely, powder-like finish, so there's no shine in sight.
However, I applied the concealer directly to bare skin, which gave it a dry, cracked appearance.
Throughout the day, it set into my smile lines and creases, so I found myself constantly blending the area with my finger.
Overall, I love this concealer for its full-coverage, yet lightweight, appearance.
However, to ensure it sits well on your skin, it's best applied over a foundation - and don’t skip your primer.

The first time I applied this concealer, I felt a little indifferent, however, I'm growing to really like it.
I've been using shades 5W1 and 6C1, and the latter is great for covering blemishes and the former as a highlighter.
The concealer's application is silky smooth, meaning it glides on with ease.

I'm a big fan of its rich texture and full coverage, which is important for covering dark pigmentations in my skin tone.
It didn't sit into any creases and was long-lasting, too - after hours of wear and heavy socialising, it looked just as good as when I first put it on.
I've recommended it to a friend already!
BEFORE
I'm a massive fan of Laura Mercier - it's one of those brands that was hugely popular before the pandemic but now, in the age of Tiktok, it largely flies under the radar.
I've have been pretty loyal to the brand's Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer since it launched over six years ago, so I was dubious as to whether this new, serum-infused formula would match up.
At first, I was surprised how much coverage the concealer gave - I have quite a bit of redness in my cheeks and around my nose that it completely disguised in just a few swipes.

That being said, it's not very buildable, so I found it hard to layer over some particularly angry spots around my hairline.
The finish isn't too dewy or glowy, despite it being a brightening concealer, which I like as I have oily skin, which can cause products to slip around.
To really put the concealer to the test, I skipped setting powder, but it still stayed put all day!
If you have oily or combination skin and you're looking for a comfortable, medium coverage, every day concealer, look no further.
BEFORE
This concealer has a lovely, almost mousse-like texture and gorgeous scent, and it is much more luxurious than the product I usually use.
I first applied shade 2N1 under my eyes, where I found that it blended beautifully and didn’t set into fine lines.
Later in the day, I took my dog out for a walk, and the weather was so chilly that my eyes were streaming, so I expected the concealer to smudge or get washed away.
However, it didn’t budge and looked just as good when I returned.

When I’ve had my make-up done professionally, the MUA usually applies concealer to the lines around my mouth, but this is a step that I often forget.
So I applied shade 1N1 to this area and was delighted to see a noticeable difference – the area looked softer and all imperfections appeared blurred.
Overall, I’m a big fan.
The concealer did a great job of smoothing and blurring my skin and it's a pleasure to apply!

I've tried a lot of concealers in my time, so was pretty excited to see if Laura Mercier's Real Flawless Concealer was worth the hype.
After all, the brand's Tinted Moisturiser is my go-to.
I don't tend to wear a lot of foundation, so a long-lasting and strong concealer is a make-up bag must-have, as I rely on it to do all the heavy lifting.
I tend to target the dark circles around my eyes, and then use them to lighten up my face around my forehead, and chin which means I can end up using a lot, but I was pleasantly surprised how little I had to use for such a smooth finish.

Not only does it give a smooth, even look, but also seamlessly matches my skin tone, so is perfect for that 'no-make-up make-up' look that so many of us are striving to achieve.
It appeared to fill in the dark circles before my eyes - no mean feat given how dark mine are!
It also feels soft as you wear it with a powder-like finish, which I found helped to stop annoying mascara smudges while looking really natural.
It's just earned the title of my new favourite concealer.
