Fanapt OK'd for Bipolar; First Depression App Cleared; Keto Diet for Schizophrenia

The FDA approved iloperidone (Fanapt) for the acute treatment of manic or mixed episodes in adults with bipolar I disorder, said maker Vanda Pharmaceuticals. The agent was first approved in 2009 for schizophrenia.

In other regulatory news, the FDA cleared CT-152 (Rejoyn), the first prescription digital treatment for major depressive disorder delivered as a smartphone app, as an adjunct to antidepressants for people ages 22 and older, Otsuka Pharmaceutical and Click Therapeutics announced.
