New York hairdresser who styled Taylor Swift, Natalie Portman & Michael Jackson opens new salon in Scotland
A NEW York hairdresser who was a stylist to the stars has left the Big Apple and opened a brand new salon in Scotland.
Thomas McKiver has styled hair for superstars such as Taylor Swift, Natalie Portman and Michael Jackson.
His job as a freelance stylist has taken him all over the world.
And after 35 years in the states, the Scottish-born hairdresser has moved to St Andrews with lawyer wife Sheila.
The couple moved to the Fife town for a quieter life.
His new salon, tom, opened in Dundee's Union Street this week and aims to be the best site in the UK.

Tom, told The Courier: "I worked in TV, advertising and editorial for magazines like Vogue and Elle.
"I’ve worked with Michael Jackson, Guns N Roses, Shakira, Taylor Swift — a decent number of people."
After moving to St Andrews and working in salons across the city, Thomas decided to open a new venture.
And he aims to train the next generation of stylists to be as particular as he is when it comes to creating cuts.

He added: "My aim, in the long term is this. First, I have to be the best salon in Dundee. Secondly, the best in Scotland. Third, the UK. And I think I can do it, but it takes time.
"I want to make Dundee known for innovation for hair and style.
"We want to put our young trainees and stylists on the map."
Although he has worked with huge stars in New York, he said that he won't be charging extortionate prices.
Sheila added: "We are going to be in line, price-wise, with everyone else in Dundee.
"We would like people to come to us because we are different and can offer a better cut, than charging and saying that’s why we are ‘best’."
