It's kinda wild to think that the Travis Scott x Jordan Jumpman Jack ‘University Red’ was first teased last summer, but after over 10 long months of waiting, we finally have an official release date. Unlike the ‘Sail’ version that surprise dropped during the Grammys in extremely limited numbers, this pair will actually get a wide public release—and, like most kicks with Travis Scott’s name on ’em, it has all the necessary attributes to become one of 2024’s hottest sneakers.
While Scott has worked with Nike and Jordan Brand on a wide variety of sneakers since 2018—including his much-hyped take on the Air Jordan 1—the Jumpman Jack marks the rapper's first all-original model. Inspired by ‘80s-era basketball shoes and ’90s skate shoes, this spin on the silhouette features a black mesh-canvas base overlaid by panels of white leather throughout, similar to the ‘Reverse Mocha’ Jordan 1 Low that Scott designed in 2022. The mid-ankle design takes a leaf out of the Travis Scott x Nike Mac Attack, and across the sidewalls, you’ll find Scott’s signature backwards Swoosh in gleaming red.
Down south, the midsole has been given a pre-yellowed effect for an old-school aesthetic. The whole thing comes packed in a special co-branded shoebox, with an exclusive tote bag thrown in to help you flex on all your fellow shoppers at the grocery store.
The Travis Scott x Jordan Jumpman Jack ‘University Red’ is set to release on April 26 via Nike, the SNKRS app, and select stockists worldwide. Expect to pay $200 if you're lucky enough to get a W.
From $2 million Jordans to $1.8 million Yeezys, these are the priciest kicks to ever hit the auction block.
