This year, the just-concluded women's college basketball season seemed to also double as a Caitlin Clark record-breaking exhibition. In a two-week span in mid-February, as she put the bow on a one-of-one college career, Clark toppled a series of never-to-be-busted records that left her standing alone as the most decorated scorer in college hoops history.
And then, on Monday night at the WNBA Draft in Brooklyn, Caitlin Clark made history again—this time without even touching a ball. In hitting the orange carpet in a full Prada look, she explained to GQ Sports' intrepid social correspondent Peter Lee, she became the first player—WNBA or NBA—to be dressed by the brand for a draft. “Prada's very me,” she told us. “I'm a pretty simple girl.” (She added John Hardy jewelry, too.)

And while Clark is of course best known for her style on the court (the stepbacks, the pullups, the seemingly endless run of limited-edition Kobes), she reminded us this weekend that she's becoming a heavy hitter in the tunnel fits part of the game, too. She broke out a varsity jacket for an appearance on SNL on Saturday, and hit the afterparty in matching black-and-white Dunks.
On Monday night, she went from historically decorated college hooper to WNBA rookie, as the Indiana Fever made her the first overall pick in the 2024 Draft. And while social media pundits were quick to note (and decry) the fact that her WNBA salary leaves much to be desired, it seems a stone-cold lock that she'll rack up an unprecedented series of off-court endorsement deals. In other words: we're pretty sure when the Fever kick the W season off next month, Clark will be able to break out as much Prada as she likes.
