A judge accused Donald Trump of intimidating a candidate for the jury at his trial after he heard the former president muttering to a woman as she was questioned about whether she was biased against him.

Judge Juan Merchan said Trump was “audibly uttering something” to a woman who was being asked about a video she posted on Facebook after his election defeat in 2020.

“I won’t tolerate that,” the judge said. “I will not have any jurors intimidated in this courtroom.” He then ordered Todd Blanche, Trump’s defence lawyer, to admonish his client.
