Street wardens rescued of a dog who had been tied up and apparently abandoned in a Birmingham city centre car park. The men were out on patrol when they came across the energetic canine in what seemed to be a temporary homeless shelter set up in a Westside car park.

Although bright and friendly, the dog appeared to be limping due to a bad leg. The dog was fed and watered before being collected by the RSPCA.

Wardens have subsequently spoke to members of the homeless community members about the dog. Mike Olley, general manager at Westside BID, said: “This was another good day for Westside wardens. We work constantly with the homeless community who we maintain a level of respect for, even if it was they who abandoned this gorgeous, youthful, energetic animal.

Street wardens came to the rescue of a loveable young dog who had been tied up and apparently abandoned in a multi-storey car park in Birmingham city centre.

“We work with numerous partners like the police, the city council and, on this occasion, the RSPCA who we called and they responded promptly.

“We know the animal will get a full medical look over and be brought up to tip top health by the marvellous RSPCA. Equally, we hope a new owner will be found who can share in the joy and love this animal so naturally and freely gives out. A good day.”
