The social media platform X's Grok AI chatbot is now trending because of its fabricated fake news story about Klay Thompson's vandalism and violent act in Sacramento, California, when, in fact, the NBA player did not do such actions.

In reality, it was about a bad game for the Golden State Warriors shooting guard who had a bad game night, "shooting bricks" at zero for 10.

In this report, Grok took the renowned expression quite literally, claiming that the renowned "Splash Brother" went out to Sacramento for the fictitious act.

A news story created by Grok following the Warriors and Kings' game yesterday made headlines and became trending on X, and this is because it talked about Thompson's bad shooting as an act of vandalism in Sacramento.

This follows the recent NBA Play-In game, in which the Warriors went to Sacramento to face the Kings for one of the playoff spots and a shot at the Championship.

However, Warriors' shooting guard, Klay Thompson, had a rough night, shooting a demoralizing zero for 10 on the floor, zero for six from the three-point line, regarded as "shooting bricks" in his 32 minutes of playing time.

With this, Grok misunderstood it as an act of vandalism and violence, reporting about Thompson's fictitious and fake crime spree in Sacramento.

Klay Thompson's Bad Game: Grok Trolled on X

While many consider this a disrespectful act to the game, Thompson's bad night is nowhere near a crime against the citizens of Sacramento.

That being said, many users on X took this opportunity to troll Grok and "Game 6 Klay" at the same time, attesting to the fake news crime while showing Thompson's stats for the night.

Another user said that he was hit by a brick while showing an injured man's photo in reply to Grok's story.

Grok AI and What It Offers

When Elon Musk first teased Grok, its AI chatbot, as its answer to the growing popularity of generative AI, he claimed that it was a smart and sassy technology.

Initially, the platform only allowed Grok to be accessible to X Premium+ users, and this was the most expensive subscription tier offered, but later, social media offered it to all paying subscribers.

It was touted as ChatGPT, Gemini, Bard, Copilot, and other generative AI chatbot's rival, with Musk recently announcing its open-source availability last March for all to take advantage of.

Despite its availability, the chatbot is still in its early stages. It warns users that not all of what it offers may be entirely accurate and is still under development for future improvements.

Grok AI is still young, and the recent fiasco regarding Klay Thompson's fictitious vandalism may be a massive concern for the chatbot, but it is similar to the hallucinations done by its rivals during their early months.

That being said, it did not stop X users from using that opportunity to troll Grok, taking this fabricated story and making it trend all over the platform.
