The build-up has been full of personal insults and angry confrontations, but surprisingly the pair managed to sit down and agree during the fight week press conference in New York.

Garcia proposed a $500,000 bet for their showdown at the weekend, but Haney countered his offer by suggesting it should be per pound of weight he comes in over the 140lbs limit.

Surprisingly, without things getting more physical, the pair verbally agreed to the wager before even standing up and shaking hands on stage.

This time security weren't forced to intervene, and eyes will now be on the weigh-in to see if both men tip the scales at 140lbs.

Concerns have been raised over the challenger's weight, given he looks in tremendous shape, but to the eyes of the boxing world he appears bulkier.

At the open workouts, Garcia had responded to the concerns voiced by the media insisting he weighed 141lbs at the time on fight week.

His promoter and boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya also dismissed notions of missing the target, adding: “He’ll make weight.

"He’s been 1,000 percent focused. Serious.

"What he does on social media takes ten seconds to pull up. He’s working hard.

"He’s been working hard for the last two months.”

Devin Haney shoves Ryan Garcia in heated first face-off before grudge fight

'King Ry' has been training with coach Derrick James for the huge clash, where he will look to continue his bounce back from a defeat to Gervonta Davis in April 2023.

He is the significant underdog on the night against the undefeated champion, but a win could see him crowned as a world champion for the first time in his career.

Although his social media antics have concerned onlookers in the build-up to the clash, Garcia has insisted he is ready to go and will conduct business on fight night.

Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia will be live on talkSPORT from 4am on Sunday morning.
