That means guests of certain IGH Hotels will be able to cast their favorite content from their iPhones to the TV.

Some hotels only offer Chromecast support and this can be frustrating for iPhone owners who want to screencast to the TV.

It's now possible to use AirPlay in over 60 IGH Hotels in North America.

More locations will get TVs upgraded with the feature in the coming months.

“Users can automatically connect to the compatible LG hotel TV in their guest room and the hotel’s Wi-Fi network by scanning a unique QR code on the screen.

"Once connected, guests can share almost anything on the big screen in their hotel room directly from their iPhone or iPad.

"Guests can also pair multiple devices to the TV, so friends and loved ones traveling together can also enjoy," Apple said in a statement.

To use AirPlay in the hotels you'll need an iPhone XS or later.

The iPhone will also need to be updated with iOS 17.3 or later.

You'll also be able to use AirPlay on certain iPads.

iPhone owners urged to use ‘severely underrated’ accessory and say it’s ‘favorite thing’ – it solves nighttime nightmare

More information about the specific devices can be found on IHG's website.

To start using AirPlay make sure your iPhone is connected to the same Wi-Fi as the smart TV you plan to stream content on.

Find the content you want to stream on your iPhone and then tap the AirPlay button.

It looks a bit like a TV, you might have to tap the share button to find the AirPlay option.

Once you've clicked AirPlay a list of devices will pop up.

Select the device on which you want the content to appear.

iPhone tricks to try today

Here are some of the best...

  • Typing cursor – When typing, hold down the space bar to turn your keyboard into a trackpad, letting you move around words and sentences more easily
  • Close all Safari tabs – To do this in one go, simply hold the overlapped squares in the bottom right-hand corner, and press close all tabs
  • Delete lots of photos quickly – Hold down on a photo and then drag your finger diagonally in Photos to select lots of images at once, then hit delete
  • Convert currency quickly – Swipe down from the top of your Home screen, then tap in the bar and type a currency (like €200) and it will automatically covert to your local currency
  • Check if you’re due a battery upgrade – Batteries inside smartphones degrade over time. Just go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health, and check out the Maximum Capacity reading. Generally a battery is considered worn when you’re down to 80% capacity. If you’re below, you can buy a battery swap from Apple
  • Move apps around faster – Hold an app until it starts wiggling, then (while still holding) tap other apps, causing them to stack so you can move them around easier
