Coronation Street spoilers next week see one cobbles legend in a scary hospital dash.

Only recently, Roy Cropper has found himself arrested, charged and the number one suspect for the supposed murder of missing teenager Lauren. Soap fans will recall that troubled youngster Lauren abruptly left the cobbles earlier this year and her friend Bobby has been left concerned after he found her flat unlocked with Lauren nowhere to be seen.

Viewers never saw Lauren leave and it seems she told no one close to her of her plan to leave Weatherfield aside from Roy. Bobby reported Lauren as missing to the police and Roy has found himself under suspicion due to his kind nature, especially after he was caught innocently cleaning Lauren's flat, which some people thought proved he was guilty and internet sleuths have since made his life a misery with a barrage of online abuse.

In upcoming scenes, fans will be left concerned for Roy when he collapses in his prison cell as the stress of recent events take their toll. Spoilers for next week reveal that Roy has another flashback of Lauren approaching the café counter with Max but can't work out what's significant about their conversation. Roy is soon disturbed from his chain of thoughts when a prison officer bangs on the door, leaving the café owner frustrated.

However, later on, things take a shock turn when Roy's niece Nina Lucas shows up at the visiting room and tells a prison officer she's waiting for her uncle. It's not long until the officer goes into Roy's cell to find him collapsed on the floor. Later in the week, Mary Taylor visits a desolate Roy in hospital, where he admits that he keeps trying to remember the details of a conversation he overheard between Max and Lauren prior to her disappearance as he's sure it is of significance. A supportive Mary urges Roy not to give up as she is sure it will come back to him eventually.

By the end of the week, it appears that Roy remembers one vital detail as he contacts solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey, telling her about Lauren's necklace and explaining that if they can trace where it's from, they might be able to trace her mystery boyfriend, who could provide answers to her whereabouts. Will they track down Lauren's mystery boyfriend and could they provide vital answers to her disappearance?
