Colchester Sports Park is to mark its third year of operation later this month with a day of activities costing just £3 each.

The initiative, on April 26, will allow locals to explore the park's extensive facilities and engage in an array of activities at an affordable rate.

The park, which has been a hotbed for local athletes, families, community groups and individuals since it opened wants everyone to experience it.

Colchester Sports Park has something suitable for everyone, regardless of their experience.

Among the £3 activities, prospective participants can enjoy the 1-mile cycle track, the thrilling BMX Pump Track, or join one of the group fitness classes guided by expert instructors.

The state-of-the-art gym will also be open for a full-body workout.

David King, leader of Colchester Council, shared his pride in the park.

He said: "We're incredibly proud to celebrate three years of providing health and wellbeing facilities to the Colchester community and beyond.

"We offer accessible and inclusive opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to stay active and healthy and would love to invite everyone to join us on the 26 April to take advantage of this special offer and experience what the Sports Park has to offer.”

In collaboration with British Cycling, Colchester Sports Park offers various cycling facilities, including a floodlit cycle track, a BMX Pump Track, and a Learn to Ride area, making it unique to any other sports park in Essex.

The park also has an array of indoor facilities such as a multi-use sports hall for badminton, a fitness studio, a cutting-edge rugby facility, all-weather football pitches, and a grass pitch.

There's even an area set aside for archery.

For those who want to take a breather or spend time with their family, Paddy and Scott’s coffee shop is available within the park.
