Coronation Street star Dolly-Rose Campbell was seen getting nabbed by security - but it wasn't what it seemed as the actress was in character as Gemma Winter-Brown. The actress first appeared on the cobbles as Gemma back in 2014 and hasn't looked back since.

She made her debut in the ITV soap as the bold and brash character when, after the deaths of her two friends, Gemma attempted to change her public image after being caught up with the late Callum Logan by taking part in the Weatherfield Good Samaritan Awards scheme. She befriended Rita Tanner before eventually moving into Rita's flat.

A couple of years later and Gemma was fully settled to life on the cobbles. She got a job at Prima Doner with Chesney Brown, guiding each other as they lurched from one disastrous love affair to the next before they finally ended up together in 2018 and the following year were rocked by the news that they were expecting quadruplets.

With the years having flown by, fans of the ITV soap know that Gemma and her husband Chesney Brown struggle when it comes to their finances, particularly due to being a large family of seven with Chesney's son Joseph and their quads - Aled, Bryn, Carys and Llio.

Barmaid Gemma then had a tough time of late after social services stopped her from being able to live with her family and see her children alone. Gemma had been convinced that her stepson Joseph was really ill after his complaints but her own mental health was questioned when doctors couldn't seem to see anything wrong with the schoolboy.

When Joseph complained of feeling unwell again, she was sceptical, due to being accused of overreacting the last time. While in a bid to help him ended up seeing Gemma accidentally poison her stepson, Joseph again complained of being ill and after being sent hom from school, he collapsed in front of his dad Chesney and grandmother Linda prompting them to call and ambulance and medical staff later confirmed Joseph had Lyme Disease.

Since then Linda has once again returned to Weatherfield and has gone all out in making sure her grandson has the best in life. She has helped Chesney and Gemma enrol Joseph in the private school, Oakhill, offering to pay his fees and even insisting on kitting him out with his uniform, something Chesney pushed back on.

Gemma appears heartbroken at not being able to but the shoes for her daughter

But now, it appears that money issues are continuing for the family as Dolly-Rose has been seen filming as Gemma. And it's running shoes for the character as when she seemingly struggles to afford the shoes that her daughter wants, Gemma sneaks back into the shop and steals them before legging it out the door.

But as she goes full pelt down the street, she finds herself in the arms of a security guard who is quick to stop her in her tracks with her young daughter watching on.

Meanwhile, it's been revealed that Gemma's dad, Denny, will soon be arriving in Weatherfield after hearing his son, and Gemma's twin brother Paul Foreman, is dying after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last year.

In upcoming scenes, Billy Mayhew helps husband Paul dress for his radio interview with Amy Barlow and assures him he’ll smash it. A cab arrives to take Paul and his mum Bernie to the interview and it’s obvious the car isn’t big enough for Paul’s wheelchair. Paul is left furious as the driver is rude and dismissive. They still make it but as Amy conducts her radio interview with Paul, he talks passionately about his MND and society’s lack of regard for disability in general, but gets carried away and swears live on air.

Paul, Billy and his sister Gemma are blown away by the MND crowd funder and are sure it will make the council sit up and take notice about the possible centre closure. Meanwhile, a man approaches Bernie outside the café, telling her he heard Paul on the radio and didn’t realise his son was dying.

Bernie covers her shock and makes out Paul’s already dead and the interview was a recording. But disbelieving her, Denny follows her up to the flat where Gemma and Paul are shocked to see their dad. When Denny remarks that Paul looks great for someone that’s supposedly dead, Bernie freezes in horror.

Later, Bernie lets off steam to Dev about Denny, secretly worried that Denny might blab about her past. Billy, meanwhile, reminds Paul that Denny used to knock him about when he was a kid and he’s not to be trusted but when Paul invites Denny to watch a film, Billy reluctantly leaves them to it.

Denny soon nips out for ice cream leaving Paul alone in the flat. He bumps into Gemma and begs her to let him meet his grandchildren. But while alone in the flat, Paul has a coughing fit and struggles to breathe. He calls for an ambulance but when the operator answers, he drops the phone.

Denny then returns and is shocked to find Paul barely conscious. Meanwhile, Dev Alahan finds Bernie rifling through a shoebox of old letters and photos. When Dev wonders what she’s looking for, Bernie’s uneasy...
