Teen boy chased and stabbed in Bay Terraces

A 17-year-old boy was hospitalized after being stabbed in the Bay Terraces neighborhood Tuesday night, San Diego police said.
The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. at Alta View Drive and Woodman Street, police said. The victim was with a group of teen boys when they were approached by another group of teen boys and challenged to a fight, police said.
The victim group ran away, but one boy chased the victim and stabbed him twice in the ribs, police said.
He was taken to a hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening. The assailant and his group ran north on Woodman.
Gang detectives were investigating.
