Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon broke down in tears during the latest episode of ITV’s Drama Queens as she opened up about her miscarriage. The actress, who plays Bethany Platt on the ITV soap opera, went on to welcome a son with her partner Ryan in January 2023.

Speaking about the ordeal on ITV2 show, Lucy said: "In the first year that Ryan and I were together, we fell pregnant and we were really, really excited. We booked a scan and..." Fighting back tears, the soap star then said: "I feel like I'm going to get upset."

Composing herself, Lucy continued: "We went for the first scan and I didn't expect that anything would be wrong and she [the nurse] told us that there was no heartbeat and the baby had died." Want less ads? Download WalesOnline’s Premium app on Apple or Android

The Corrie star explained: "I just feel like because we had experienced some harder times before we had Sonny and I think when I was pregnant with Sonny I was filled with so much anxiety. To kind of look back and think 'wow what we've created' it just feels even more special."

Lucy opened up about her miscarriage in 2022. At the time she revealed that she “never thought something like this would happen to her”, calling the experience "really horrible to deal with". Lucy praised her partner Ryan for being "so supportive".

Lucy has played Bethany Platt on Coronation Street since 2015

Lucy recently teased that her Corrie character Bethany would be involved in a “huge” storyline later this year. Upon her comeback last year, the character immediately bedded her ex Daniel Osbourne, causing a stir between him and Daisy Midgeley.
