Tom Fellows is managing a minor groin complaint as West Bromwich Albion prepare for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday this Saturday - but Carlos Corberan doesn't foresee too many issues when it comes to involving the winger in his match-day squad at the weekend. Fellows had suffered discomfort, which Corberan insists isn't an injury, prior to the trip to Leicester City last Saturday.

He was introduced in the second half but the discomfort increased a little, and he hasn't been able to train with his teammates in the early stages of this week. All being well, Fellows will rejoin full training in the coming days and will be in a position to be considered for selection when Corberan is naming his 20-man group to travel to Hillsborough.

Corberan has an embarrassment of wide options currently, with Mikey Johnston, Jed Wallace, Grady Diangana and Matt Phillips the most prominent names who the Spaniard is able to turn to in the event Fellows isn't passed fit to feature.

"The team now is in a positive moment," Corberan said. "It's true that Fellows didn't train during this week, but we have days to work because he was feeling something in the groin during the game. Before the game he felt it a little bit and it increased with this. He has been managing it. It's not an injury, but he's been managing it with the medical staff.

"Let's see how he progresses but I think he will normally be fine, but he couldn't make the normal days of the other players. I can tell you that he is the only player who has been working differently this week. Still we are in the middle of the preparations, but everyone has been fine."

Corberan has also been heartened by what he has seen from the returning Josh Maja this week. The striker was introduced in the final ten minutes of the 2-1 defeat at the King Power Stadium this past weekend, another step in the right direction on the back of successive lay-offs related to ankle injuries which have heavily disrupted his season. The striker isn't ready to be considered as a starting option just yet, though.

"Still, you need to respect a lot the competition but every week he is going to be better," Corberan added. "This week, we have been working three days and in my opinion they've been very useful for him. It doesn't mean that he is going to be ready from the beginning. I think still that he will need a little bit of time from the bench, to make him feel like he is ready. We will see."
