The Met Office has said there could be frost in Liverpool and further afield as temperatures are set to plummet again.

Today, Wednesday, has seen some sunny spells and highs of 10C but the mercury is set to drop once the sun goes down. Met Office experts have said this evening should stay dry "with some late sunshine in places".

However it will then turn "rather cold" with the chance of "frost forming in some rural areas". There could also be some showers overnight, with expected lows of 2C.

We can expect highs of 10C that feel more like 6C in Liverpool.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the Met Office forecast reads: "Mainly dry on Friday and Saturday albeit often cloudy. Some sunshine at times, although the chance of a few showers too.

"Probably turning wetter and windier moving into Sunday. Cool."

Saturday will be the warmest day of the rest of the week, with highs of 10C that feel more like 9C.
