Fiona Bruce was spotted out on a stroll earlier ahead of the newsreader's milestone 60th birthday later this week.

The TV presenter, 59 - who is known for hosting BBC shows such as Question Time and Antiques Roadshow - will be celebrating her birthday on Thursday. She was spotted out in London earlier this week ahead of the special occasion.

She was seen taking a stroll in the capital city on Wednesday just a day before her birthday. Fiona was pictured wrapped up whilst out on the walk this week, with her having been seen heading down a street earlier, seemingly by herself.

Fiona was seen wearing a blue coat on the outing, which she had placed over the top of a brown jacket and a pair of white trousers. The journalist was also pictured sporting a pair of blue trainers whilst out in the city earlier this week.

She had accessorised the look with a patterned red scarf that was seen around her neck in photos that were taken on Wednesday. And Fiona was seen carrying a beige handbag in one hand as she walked down the street in London.

Fiona recently teased plans for her birthday in an interview with Woman & Home magazine. She told the outlet just last month that she and her husband Nigel Sharrocks, 67, will also be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary.

The presenter revealed that their family will be having a joint party for both occasions. Fiona shared at the time that she had already hired a DJ who's associated with the nightclub Heaven, home of the event brand G-A-Y, in London.

She told the outlet: "I'm having a party because, as well as my birthday, it's my 30th wedding anniversary. We might as well go for it!" Fiona continued: "I've hired a really good DJ who normally does Heaven nightclub on Saturday nights."

It was stated by the outlet that she doesn't worry about ageing. Fiona is quoted as having said that she doesn't look in the mirror and comment on seeing "another line". She suggested that it was "great" and counted her "lucky stars".

During the interview, she also spoke about the prospect of retiring. She referenced fellow journalist David Dimbleby, now 85, who had fronted Question Time from 1994 until his departure in 2018. He remains its longest-serving host and had been at the helm of the show until he was aged 80.

Fiona teased that she has no plans to continue working until such an age herself. She stated in a recent interview that she doesn't want to be working until she's the same age her predecessor David had been when he left the BBC show.

She also shared that earlier in her career at the BBC she hadn't expected to still be working into her fifties, teasing that she is "astonished". Fiona teased that producers could "ring the changes" at any point and said that although she will be "sad," she will "totally accept it" if that happens.
