Sainsbury's has issued a warning to shoppers after scores of customers saw online shopping orders CANCELLED today. Sainsbury's, which is rivalled by Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and more, has issued a response to shoppers and customers via social media.

Responding to one angry customer, Sainsbury's said: "I'm sorry for the tech issue. We're aware there is an issue and we're working to have it fixed ASAP. At this stage I wouldn't be able to confirm when your delivery will happen."

Sainsbury's customers have flooded social media this morning complaining of cancelled orders. Taking to X, one wrote: "Is there an issue with deliveries today? I am not been able to speak to anyone as your phone lines are not working either."

In an update at 10.30am today, Sainsbury's told BirminghamLive: "We have fixed a small technical issue which has affected some groceries online orders this morning. We have contacted these customers directly to apologise for the inconvenience.”

While another added: "The absolute cheek of Sainsbury’s completely ghosting their customers about their deliveries being cancelled today. I live in a rural area they haven’t even bothered to phone, text or email me about my order being cancelled this morning."

And another customer said: "Your customer service line is not working - it consistently disconnects calls. I've tried eight times this morning to find out what happened to my order." A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said, “A small technical issue affected some groceries online orders this morning.

"We have contacted these customers directly to apologise for the inconvenience.” Responding to customers on the social media platform, Sainsbury's confirmed a "tech issue" has caused deliveries to be delayed as it reached out with a grovelling apology.

Over 500 customers reported issues with the service, as per Downdetector. In March, Sainsbury's was hit by a major "technical issue" which saw most online deliveries cancelled. The chain said that it was "working hard to fix the issue" and apologised to affected customers.

A spokesperson said: "We can confirm that contactless payments are now back up and running in all our stores, alongside all other forms of payment. Our Groceries Online ordering system is working as normal and customers can place an order for delivery anytime from tomorrow.

"We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused by technical issues today - thank you for bearing with us."
