Britain's Got Talent star Sydnie Christmas has returned to her day job at a gym just days after receiving the golden buzzer.

The vocalist was given a fast track to the semi-final after wowing the judges with her faultless audition. Amanda Holden was left emotional by the performance and couldn't resit pressing the coveted buzzer.

Just days after her audition aired on ITV, the singer was seen working at boutique gym 1Rebel. Sydnie shared a snap from her day job as she thanked all those who reached out to support her following the audition.

Captioning the picture, she wrote: "Back to work after a heart-felt weekend. Once again, thank you to everyone for the support and love. I feel very, very lucky."

During her audition – where she wowed the audience with her rendition of Tomorrow from the musical Annie – Sydnie told judges Simon Cowell, Amanda, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli that she worked in a gym. The singer was subject to fix claims on social media after it emerged that she has previously starred in E4's Stage School.

Viewers were left frustrated after it was revealed that five of the acts so far on Britain's Got Talent were already famous. Sydnie is a stage performer who previously starred in hit shows Starlight Express in Bochum, Germany, and Lazarus at London's King's Cross Theatre.

Sydnie addressed the controversy on ITV's Lorraine The Scottish presenter asked her: "You have been grafting away, you have done the cruise ships, you've never been on the West End though?"

"No!" Sydnie said as Lorraine Kelly asked: "You've never done any of that. You've always wanted to. This is your dream isn't it?"

Sydnie explained: "I just aspire to, I want to be a leading lady. That's the dream! That's the aim," before adding that she wanted to do Britain's Got Talent "to open a door, to try. Let's have it. Let's give it a go."

A TV insider then clarified to The Sun: "It has always been the case that BGT is open to all regardless of their previous experience." Meanwhile, opera sensation Innocent Masuku is also an established performer and is currently starring in Rossini's The Barber of Seville on the London Coliseum stage.

Act Bobby Goldfinn – whose routine is based on the fact goldfish have a three second memory so he kept forgetting what he was doing – is an amateur comedian from Massachusetts with 650,000 followers on TikTok. Geneviève Côté, who is able to create nature sounds and noises, has already starred in two previous international iterations from the series.

She was given the golden buzzer both in March 2023 on Canada's Got Talent and on France's version of the show. Geneviève was also her brought for America's Got Talent: Fantasy League this January.

Alesha's golden buzzer, Ravi's Dream Team have already enjoyed some success after releasing a charity single featuring several high-profile musicians including Bastille, Damon Albarn, Paloma Faith, The Big Moon, and Metronomy.
