Major car brand loved by celebrities releasing biggest ever model as EV… with incredibly quick charging tech
A POPULAR car brand driven by A-list celebs has revealed its most technologically advanced EV to date.
A similar size to the Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40 this new motor is set to be the brand's biggest yet.
Smart introduced their #5 concept car at the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.
The #5 takes the brand's styling into a new direction with a harder-edged, more rugged appearance than Smart's two previous models.
The concept car's off-road design shows the brand's move to appeal to a different market, according to Autocar.
Dirk Adelmann, Smart CEO, said: "With this vehicle, we leave all boundaries behind and open up a new segment for customers in Europe and worldwide."

Smart claims their concept motor will have one of the largest EV batteries that size.
The major car brand added that it will have a range of more than 340 miles and it will only take 15 minutes to charge from 10-80 per cent.
This would be a huge upgrade from their #1 model which has a range of up to 273 miles and takes just under 30 minutes to charge.
It is unclear how much power the new car will have but reports suggest it will be an improvement on #1's 422bhp.

The Smart #5 interior boasts a new dashboard, which combines two infotainment touchscreens into one large oval shape.
Its on-board computer is supported by a powerful American chip processor which makes it more efficient and has more advanced AI assistance.
Touch-sensitive panels were installed in favour of physical buttons for features such as window demisters and hazard lights.
The #5 will be unveiled in production later this year and is set to land in the UK in 2025.
It is estimated to cost around £35,000.
These cars are owned by a host of A-list celebs who will be eager to get their hands on the new concept car once it's available on the market.
Mel Gibson, Shaquille O'Neil and Simon Cowell are just a few famous names who have a Smart car among their impressive collection.
It comes after another major car brand revealed a "supermini" is coming to the UK and will be Britain's cheapest EV.
And this motor brand's EV is nearly half the price of its nearest rivals.
