Katie Price was missing from her bankruptcy hearing on Friday - but her ex-husband Alex Reid was spotted leaving the court.
The TV personality and former glamour model was declared bankrupt for a second time earlier this year after failing to pay over £750,000 in unpaid tax. Katie was due to give evidence at the High Court on Friday about her finances and prove to a judge how she will be able to pay off her debts.
At the start of hearing, lawyers announced that the TV personality had informed then that she couldn't attend. A barrister told the judge: "It's quite apparent that the evidence was filed very late and not even filed with the court.
"We are in a very serious situation as a consequence. She may be held in contempt of court, imprisoned, fined or a warrant issued for her arrest," as reported by The Sun.
Although Katie was missing, her ex-husband Alex was seen leaving the court after attending the bankruptcy hearing for his former partner. He wore a white shirt and tan chinos, finishing off the look with a brown jacket. Alex was used a walking stick as an aid.
Katie's financial worries have lasted several years as the former I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! campmate was first declared bankrupt in 2019 with debts of £3.2 million, stemming from outstanding tax and mortgage payments. In March, earlier this year, it was revealed that the former glamour model remained in her insolvency and her unwillingness to cooperate resulted in the indefinite suspension of her discharge.
It was then also reported that the London Insolvency and Companies Court was told that she owes the staggering amount of £761,994.05 to HMRC. In March, Court Judge Sebastian Prentis said Katie had not responded to HMRC about her jaw-dropping debt, failing to show up in court for her hearing.
She hadn't sent a lawyer to attend the hearing, forcing Court Judge Sebastian to declare her bankrupt. "There has been no response from the debtor. The papers are in order," he'd informed. "There is substantial debt due from Ms Price to HMRC and therefore I will make a bankruptcy order."
Meanwhile, Katie recently revealed on her podcast The Katie Price Show, which she hosts with her younger sister Sophie, that she thinks she may be experiencing perimenopausal symptoms. Katie revealed that she has been experiencing bloating out of nowhere and has also been suffering from brain fog, prompting a fan to get in touch and question whether Katie could be going through menopause having experienced similar symptoms herself.
Replying to the listener, Katie said: "Do you know what, I am at the age of perimenopause. I turn 46 in May so it might be that. I'm still having my periods and stuff, so I'm not in the menopause yet, but yeah, obviously I am at that age. Oh my God, how scary."
