Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty may have left sunny L.A but the couple are ensuring they have a California vibe at their U.K base.

The happy couple, who tied the knot in 2012 and share two children together, recently moved back to London from the USA, thanks to Cat taking over from Holly Willoughby as the main weekday host of This Morning.

Cat began her stint on the ITV programme alongside co-host Ben Shephard last month, after the Brummie star made the decision to quit her hosting commitments on American show So You Think You Can Dance? in order to be the new female This Morning anchor.

But while Cat won't be "will absolutely not be given time off to film the next series of So You Think You Can Dance?" over in the U.SA - a show she has hosted since 2006 - the former SMTV presenter will still have a slice of America in London, thanks to her £5million property's makeover.

The mum-of-two, 47, and husband Patrick, 53, snapped up the "derelict" property in 2022, inheriting the likes of pop stars Lewis Capaldi and One Direction heartthrob as neighbours. One year on from buying the London property, Cat and Patrick were granted planning permission to transform it into a Beverly Hills style home.

New bird's-eye view snaps of the five-bedroom property reveal it's beginning to take shape. The roof is adorned with solar panels and skylights, while large patio doors offer a view of a sprawling back garden. The first-floor terrace, set to feature an outdoor dining area, is also under construction.

While their dream home is being built, Cat and Patrick have been residing in a second London property. An insider revealed that the This Morning presenter has been frequently visiting the new house to monitor its progress. It's not yet known when Cat, Patrick and their kids will be able to move in.

Cat and Patrick first met while co-hosting the BBC show Fame Academy back in 2002. Patrick, currently at the helm of Ireland's Late Late Show, previously recounted the early days of their whirlwind romance on a Valentine's-themed episode, detailing his grand gesture that took him across the world to surprise Cat in Los Angeles.

He reminisced: "I am an absolute born romantic...If I'd a quid for every rom-com I've cried at. I followed my heart all the way to Los Angeles to surprise my now wife for lunch. Twelve years and two kids later, I think it worked out." Cat herself has been vocal about their love story,

Recalling the origins of her romance with Patrick during a 2020 appearance on Ireland's The Late Late Show, then hosted by Ryan Tubridy, Cat revealed how her now husband wooed her: "We had been friends for a very, very long time. Since we did [TV show] Fame Academy and all that.

"We would always call each other on birthdays or Christmas, or we'd see each other occasionally or whatever it was. Anyway, there was a night where it was the day before my birthday. I can't even remember what birthday it was now! It was 30-something. Anyway, he called me and he spoke to me on the phone."

She went on to say: "He said, 'Oh, what are you doing for your birthday? I'm just ringing to say happy birthday.' I said, 'Oh, we're going to the Beverly Hills Hotel. We're just going to have a late brunch; it's going to be very civilised. It's a shame you're not here, otherwise you could come'. And he was like, 'Well, eh I'll be there'.",

She further added: "Now, bear in mind at this point, Ryan, he was at the Maghera Inn down the end of the road, and in Ireland, I think it was approximately three o'clock in the morning, so I wasn't too sure! I was like, 'Yeah, yeah, sure you will. Sure you will, Charlie Big Bananas, sure you'll be there! I'll hold you a seat, how about that? Anyway, I didn't know this, but he basically stumbled home from the pub, set an alarm clock, booked a flight to go back to Heathrow I think the first flight out."
