• Two cyclists jeered a Tesla Cybertruck owner and ended up in a verbal altercation.
  • The truck driver cut off the riders and then hurled insults and slurs at them.
  • The cyclists managed to catch much of the interaction on camera.

Riding a bicycle anywhere near traffic inherently adds a certain level of danger to the activity. In most cases, nothing wrong happens, but even where no physical contact takes place, drivers and riders can end up in an argument. That’s exactly what happened with a pair of cyclists who poked fun at a Tesla Cybertruck driver over the truck’s recent riveting recall.

It’s unclear where the incident happened or what exactly triggered the interaction, but one of the riders whipped out their phone to record the end of the interaction. In it, we immediately hear the Cybertruck driver berating the cyclists. He hurls homophobic slurs at them within seconds while the riders sound apologetic and as if they’re trying to de-escalate the situation.

Despite those efforts, the agitated Tesla Cybertruck driver doubles down on their poor behavior. “Stop running your mouth at me and I won’t react to you,” says the truck driver. “I want nothing more than to rip off your head and spit down your throats,” he continues. “You cyclists screw up all the streets… you’re unbearable… and then you run your mouth at me as I try to drive to work?”

The riders then explain their actions by saying that they were just poking fun about a recent recall. That situation saw the entire population of Cybertrucks in need of a rivet on the accelerator pedal. “Do you yell at people in their cars as they drive by?” asks the driver. “We get heckled a lot by people in cars… we’re just being stupid kids,” says one of the two cyclists.

The encounter concludes with the riders wishing the driver a good day, despite the Tesla Cybertruck owner’s warning that they may someday confront the wrong person. Ironically, he seems unaware that he himself was exhibiting behavior fitting of being the “wrong dude” in that moment.

Look, this Cybertruck incident might make some folks pile on, but let’s not stereotype. Cybertrucks are already catching heat from a certain crowd who view them as, well, a bit much. But one bad apple doesn’t spoil the whole bunch, right? As we’ve seen countless times, aggressive drivers can come in all shapes and sizes, behind the wheel of anything from minivans to monster trucks.
